Well.....what have I been doing all these days......just a bit caught up with work...and basically lazy....to write ...this week is gonna be a slow week...as Tony is in India....and I really do not ahve much work heaped up...so decided to write today...

Last weekend was good.....on Sat morning as usual rushed to the library and then on my way to Savemore(grocery store) saw the street book sale....so decided to stop over....and surprise surprise...I actually saw recent bestsellers there selling for a pound each...which was so good.....but since I had already reda them from teh library...didnt buy them....saw Schindler's list which I was hunting for in India....so bought it.....then browsed thro' and saw this old 3 volumes of '' World's Greatest paintings'' and just cdnt resist picking it up.....the interesting thing is that the book is a 1930's copy....so has that old English binding...Its beautiful.....has prints of the famous paintings like Mona lisa, Madonna in teh garden...etc etc.....and also description abt each painting...not the technical descriptions which noone wd be interested in...but a page abt each artist and his famous works....which is pretty interesting....its Collectors item....and guess teh price.....got all three volumes for 15 pounds.....:-))))
was so thrilled....Contd browsing and saw a biography of Greta Garbo which I picked for satish....and also picked a hardbound of Ernest Hemingway....and it has around 6 of his boks in it...got these for a pound each....so cdnt resist....the seller was so amused that she gave me a whole lot of bags to carry the books in.....:-)))

Sorabh, his wife and Prem were in Croydon househunting.....so met them and decided to go to Pizza hut for lunch....had lunch....shopped for vegetables and returned home to admire my purchases....:-)))

In teh evening Sibs was visiting ....so had tea with him....and he moved out at 8 for dinner witha friend....then I cooked some dinner and called it a day......

On Sunday had decided to visit the Neasden temple.....it seems its like the Birla temple.....and very beautiful....Recahed Neasden station with Sibs at 4.....went out and looked around and cd see a temple far off.....since neither of us knew the way, we decided to walk in its direction.....still to be on the safe side decided to ask sumone the way....saw this Indian Gujju lady on the bustop and asked her.....she cdnt talk Hindi...beat that...she started talking in Gujarati....and obviously I cdnt understand Gujarathi...neither cd Sibs....somehow I told her that we wanted to visit the Swaminarayan temple...She told us we were in the wrong direction.....so we asked her the right direction.....she tried explaining to us...and finally she decided to take us there...:-))
we started walking....and walking and walking......for 20 mins....and finally she showed us teh temple.....which ofcourse wasnt the one which we set out for......she stays very closeby...so she invited us for tea....but we very graciously declined sayin that we wanted to visit the temple.....so she bid us goodbye.....and went off......sweeet lady......she actually walked all the way with us...instead of taking the bus......we entered the temple.....had prasad....prayed and left....neither of us had the strength to go searching for the right temple....so we decided to leave that search for another day.....

Today we realised that we went in the opposite direction.......:-)))
