Weekend was good......this weekend was ''daylight saving weeken''....what taht means is in teh last weekend of March at 1 am on Sunday morning the Bigben time is chnaged to 2 am....so that means the 1 hr between 1 and 2 is nonexistent......dont ask me why they do teh tings they do...they just do it....so when u wake up on sunday at 7...it is actually 8..:-)))
well......nowonder the trains werea bit empty today....as people must hv fogotten abt this....:-))) anwyyas was good for me....cos' I got a place to perch myself and read my Metro....naaaaah nuthing grt in it today again......
ayesterday evening wasnt in teh mood......so didnt talk much when was at Saurabh's place....after a lot of discussion we finally decided tahtw e would be going to New Forest on 9th......will be just a one day trip...This is what its all about :
The "New Forest" is an English medieval deer hunting area created in 1079 by William the Conqueror - his "Nova Foresta". It is still largely in the possession of the Crown.
It is a nationally important environment of woodland pasture, heaths, bogs and the remains of 17th, 18th & 19th century coppices and timber plantations;
grazed by the ponies, cattle and pigs of the local "Commoners" - one of the "Rights" extracted from the Crown by the locals centuries ago, and guarded vigorously to this day;
the vestiges of the ancient Forest Law courts that controlled the local population and their animals (to ensure they did not interfere with the deer and its food) still administer the Forest.
We plan to take cycles once we reach there and take teh cycling path across the forest.....will be fun...though have not cycled in 15 yrs now...:-)))...so I dunno how thats gonna be.,....but still will try that....Have cancelled Wales as of now as the weather seems unpredictable....
hv picked up some good stuff from teh library....2 biographies...one Nureyev (one of teh greatest ballet dancers of our times)....and one abt a Chinese survivor.....Nureyev is very interesting.....his rise from a peasant family to become one of teh most renowned russian ballet dancers is something which fairy tales are made of.....
