another monday.....weekend was good...saturday was spent in shopping for grocery, vegetables, milk etc.....then went to the library and spent a lot of time there....picked up some real nice books....am currently reading Ardashir Vakil's One day.....had heard a lot abt it....good and bad reviews....so when I saw it...just picked it up....

also picked up a good book on yoga.....explains all the details of the asanas.....seriously...when u practice it daily it reallly benefits u in various ways.....for one....ur pains and aches dissapear...ur posture improves.....and u feel energetic....and when all these things happen.....u feel grt and euphoric....now am talking like a yoga geek.....but seriously....hv planned to do it regularly for 45 mins.....hv been persisting for 2 weeks now....initilayy all muscles pain.....but then u know that thats cos none of them hv been stretched for years....its like 31 yrs...they lie dormant..and suddenly they are stretched......my muscles also resist change.....:-)))) hv started reading teh book ...its bya disciple of Krishnamurthy and Iyengar.....so has a combo of both...just realsied that Krishnamurthy is the more spiritual kind and Iyengar is more for Hatha Yoga....and he was the one who started yoga using props...like ropes, chairs etc....interesting read....

I am so happy I decided that I dont want the television.....else i wd hv been stuck to it...

yesterday went to teh National Gallery.....o my gawddddd.....it was an experience.....I actually say the paintings that I have read so much about....and that too standing 2 feet away.....I saw the Sunflowers-Van Gogh,Long Grass with butterflies - Van Gogh,Water Lily pond-Monet, Madonna of the Pinks--Raphael, The virgin of the rocks- Leonardo......o wow...it was an experience......I spent 5 hrs...but cd just see a few......there are hundreds more which I will see in the next coming weeks.....

Now, I do not hv too much knowledge abt paintings....however I was trying to understand why these paintings are so popular and heavily priced.....especially the Sunflowers......I just cannot understand.,......its a bright painting....but...somehow something was missing....there wre so many others which were exquisite.....The virgin of the Rocks was excellent.....the Lily pond also was beautiful......

whatever ......it was an experience.....and I enjoyed it thoroughly...

There is an El Greco week which will exhibit all his paintings...I saw a sample......believe me he was amazing......amazing doesnt come 1/10th of what he was....and it seems he was the inspiration for the later painters like Monet etc etc.....

the gallery was sellinga book...which contained all the paintings with their history...will be buying that soon....its a must hv.....

I cd just go on and on.....but now i hv to get back to work.....so will get back to u later....ok....
